Leo Camacho; Mother, Powerful ZIN Zumba instructor, Trance-Dance Facilitator. MARCH Edition
She follows her authenticity and has taught me to follow my truth in many many many ways. She is a Colombian goddess living in France, with a wild spirit and an inspiring attitude to life. She flows, she moves with life as I so many times need to remember myself to do.
Her trancedance-zumba style in her body, inspires me to move and reminds me of my wild heart. She feeds her moevement with beautiful music and adds a passionate heart, the sweetness of her gaze and the joy bubbling up as she taps into the rhythms of her body.
When was the last time you danced?
I really feel we all need to dance. In a full moon, in a new moon, in a winter day, in a moment of sadness, in celebration, in unity.... dance transforms us, elevates us, lifts us up.
Leo reminds me how beautiful dance can be. She moves with so much passion. You will love to move in her sessions... I invite her here to share a bit of her and hopefully will have her in London one day to dance with us.
1. Tell us 3 things about you?
I vibrate when I think of human nature, my own and those around me. The way we feel, express, think. I am interested in our depth, our nature, what makes us feel alive. Not to the standards and limitations we have been been given by our society. Our real passions, fears, ups and downs… all of it. I love people that allow themselves to be human, that accept their vulnerability with all that comes with it, creativity, craziness, originality. I believe my place in this life is to invite people to enter that space and share mine with them.
Since very little the body fascinates me. The difference between one person’s body to another. All it allows us to do. The power of our senses. For me, the body is one of our own life’s mirror. I am convinced our body is the most wonderful tool we have been given to experience this life fully.
My essence is a mix of movement and music. I love music and movement, they make me feel alive, total and full. I could not live without them. They are my power, my closest company and deepest form of expression. They are limitless and help me express with passion who I am what is going on inside of me.
2. How does Trance Dance happen to you? Tell us about it and what you want to offer through it...
After starting my life in London based on my need to dance I ended up discovering a whole other dimension of what dance is. I discovered dance as a tool to reconnect to our source, to grow, to understand who we are, what we are at and what our heart needs. When I left London, in my desperate search for finding that space again lead me to discover Trance Dance. I found the Trance Dance website and I felt like it was made for me. I wanted to go and do the training immediately, only life had another wonderful plan for me, I found myself pregnant. I waited two years to go and do the training and during that period I kept looking at the website over and over again, almost daily and I knew deep inside me that this was my path.
What I want to offer through Trance Dance is a space of freedom. Freedom away of who you have become in your daily life, freedom of others opinions, freedom of our mentally imposed limitations. A space where you can bee all you want, feel what is inside of you and be with it. I hold a space where we are allowed to be in our present with whatever there is, connected to our heart and where we can love ourselves without judgment, because in this space everything is perfect.
3. Tell us about your spiritual practice... My spiritual practice has come to be my life. Observing who I am, my behaviours, my reactions. My spiritual practice has become the challenge to love myself in all there is in me, my light, my shadows, my joy, my fears, highs and lows. It has become to give to myself what I need. A walk towards aligning my heart, my thoughts and my actions in whatever form possible in each moment.
4. What is your biggest dream? I am a dreamer and do not have only one specific dream. I love change, I love challenges, I love people. I guess I could say my biggest dream, the only thing I could not live without is CONNECTION. Limitless, honest, profound and loving constant CONNECTION.
5. What feels like love to you? A deep look in someones eyes. A passionate touch. Tears coming from the heart. Fear of recognition. A warm hug. Shared vulnerability. Laughter that can’t be stopped.
6. Share with us a favourite song? Something About Us - Daft Punk
7. The best advice you had ever been given. To be able lo love, you got to start by loving yourself.
