November Edition - Special GuestCat Alip-Douglas. Co-director Jivamukti London School. Advanced Jivamukti Teacher.

Through Yogeswari our mentor, I find we have a common bond, but mostly it feels to me as if we have known each other for a long time. Its an invisible connection. Through our beloved teacher. When you take her classes, something happens inside of you that stays with you. She has the skill of confronting your fears and makes your limits come to your face, while at the same time, she keeps you open hearted with a pinch of slight intimidation that challenges you in a good way. Something shifts and insights arise. I feel a deep sense of gratitude to her. She understands my journey, she sees me beneath the surface. She opens her wings to me. Here below, she shares with us a little bit of her world. Thank you Cat. You are an impressive woman. I honour you.

1. Tell us 3 things about you?

hmmmm, the first question and yet the very last one i am left to answer:) - grateful to do what i do - grateful to have what i have and know who i know - grateful to be reminded that the nature of all things is impermanence

2. What is the best advice you have ever been given? gandhi in a dream when i was just starting to teach yoga: "just keep your head down and do your thing"

3. What is your favourite song? oh so many and depending on what's going on in life! will tell you that this month, when teaching class, i play mono's "mere your pathetic light" during shavasana. it just makes me look at those moments with equal balance of strength and softness. it inspires me, without words...its subtlety is sublime!

4. Can you tell us a beautiful story about your life? life has been a tapestry of beautiful stories, even with its disappointments. the current chapter that i appreciate is the one i share with my husband phil because he continues to bring out the best in me and also always challenges me to progress, to grow...to keep the story moving!:) his patience and generosity of time is a big influence on many aspects of this epic true love story!

5. Share with us one of your favourite recipes simple: a buddha bowl - organic brown rice or green tea noodles - a selection of organic veggies like broccoli, asparagus, spinach, carrots, green beans, aubergines and/or edamame (steamed, baked and/or stir fried in garlic and olive oil) - smoked organic tofu or tempeh - avocado slices sprinkled with sesame seeds and nori

6. Share with us one of your favourite books and why? The Heart of Understanding by Thich Nhat Hanh always an inspiration!
