Special Guest - September Anna is my Pure Cook, WholeFood Harmony teacher. I have met her in London, she has guided me into new ways of understanding the energetics of food and the immense power of nutrition when we apply it from the yin/yang perspective. Yin and yang are the two dual energies which shape life. Yin and yang are used to describe opposite forces, yet they are always intertwined. They are complementary and interrelated and they can inform us so much in the ways we nourish our body, and the energy of the food we choose.

Anna´s energy is wise and pure and grounded. She shares with us one of her favourite recipes, this one in particular is very grounding with the energy of whole grains plus the warmth of nuts and the satisfying quality of the coconut milk. The energy of this recipe brings harmony and roots us into the present moment.

Nourishing Rice Pudding

1 cup rice/ almond or coconut milk 1 cup cooked rice 2 tsp Vanilla essence/ 1 vanilla pod Zest of half Lemon 2-3 tsp hazelnut or almond butter Handful raisons soaked in water to soften 2 tablespoons rice syrup

Heat all the ingredients and simmer for 15 minutes.

This is my favourite, quick dessert or sweet snack loaded with the benefits of a whole grain and infused with the richness of nut butter and creamy coconut or almond milk. Ideal to enjoy as you unwind from a busy day and perfect to nourish women, particularly in pregnancy and after childbirth.
