My favourite mug

My coffee mug. It’s the only one I like. No other will do… it has to be THIS one, always. That’s because it makes the most delicious coffee and the most gorgeous herbal tea … the measurements of coffee and sweetener are absolutely perfect for the volume of the mug. Call me obsessed but I can’t do without this mug …

I have very few things I very sacredly stick to. They become like my ritual, like coming home to my spirit, to my center. Acknowledging them makes them even more special. My morning shower is so special (but this will be part of another story!), my mug, my yoga mat... oh is this too much to ask?

The focus of this month of September, at Jivamukti School, talks about bringing unconscious drives into conscious light... What we do affects every aspect of our days even lives. What are your habits, they build your life. What are your thoughts they build your future.

Even that mug of coffee that i so much love, how does it affect my day?.. What is that I am cultivating as I drink it?.. gratitude, fortitude, awakening of the senses, memories of my country where coffee grows at its best... Big Gratitude for my day. So i honour it. I honour my people, my colombian spirit, and my life. So it all transforms into a mug, that takes me into a sacred place of thankfulness for my life and where I am at. as it is. Thank you, coffee mug.

What is your most subtle awareness as you go through your day... how do you think? what are your habits? watch them. Are you aware of the imprints you leave behind at every step?

As my dear teacher David Life says, "...how we act now. These good actions have an immediate affect on the world that we all share this lifetime".
