Old Pine, Ben Howard
July Song, Old Pine from Ben Howard. His voice reminds me of a beautiful summertime, the acknowledgement of time, the way we grow, the way we fall, a certain kind of craving for blessings, the lovely stars in the woods, the way of being at peace in the struggles of life. This Old Pine, touches me in very so many ways. Using it in the finishing/cooling part of the practice, warms my heart. Hope it does to my students too.

We stood
Steady as the stars in the woods
So happy-hearted And the warmth rang true inside these bones We stood Steady as the stars in the woods So happy-hearted And the warmth rang true inside these bones As the old pine fell we sang Just to bless the morning.
We grow, grow, steady as the morning We grow, grow, older still We grow, grow, happy as a new dawn We grow, grow, older still We grow, grow, steady as the flowers We grow, grow, older still We grow, grow, happy as a new dawn We grow, grow, older still
