SELMA ESPINOZA

1. Tell us 3 things about you?

  • I love to dance to good dark beats. If am out partying you will only see me at the dance floor. I am always listening to music. At home, in the car, etc.
  • Nothing fulfils me more than my life with my children and with my man but I love being on my own. I think one's private space and time is sacred. I miss it a lot sin ce being a mama means you don't get to have as much.
  • I was born and raised in Colombia. There are so many special things about my country but what I think is very special is how Colombians see, live and enjoy life.

3. What is your favourite song?

Love is stronger than pride by Sade

4. Can you tell us a beautiful story about your life?

I met my husband on the beach in Ibiza. We kept bumping into each other in London for a while. I Didn't see him for about a year. Then when I started teaching yoga I texted all my friends asking who wanted private yoga classes. He said he did. Two months after our first yoga class we watched a movie in his house instead of doing a yoga class. We have been together ever since.

5. What is the best advice you have ever been given

The best advice has been from both my parents and that is to love your family unconditionally. It was their advice and has been their example all my life. That has made me the best person I could have ever been. I owe that to them and to my brother.

6. Share with us one of your favourite recipes

CHIA SEEDS PUDDING I love this recipe because is so yummy and very easy to do. There is usually always a pot of it in my fridge. Ingredients: -chia seeds -dry coconut -coconut milk -coconut water -vanilla extract -pinch of sea salt -raspberries -blueberries -honey

Put some dry coconut and some chia seeds at the bottom of the jar. Now pour some coconut milk and some coconut water (2/3 of milk, 1/3 of water). Add a dash of vanilla extract and a pinch of salt. Mix well and put it in the fridge for at least 2 hours. Just before serving add some raspberries and some blueberries. Add a dash of honey on top. Viola! Perfect healthy and delicious pudding.
